History

Founding partners and best friends, Kena Hollingsworth and Christina Zivitz, met while in college together at the University of Southern Indiana. Immediately after receiving their undergraduate degrees, they attended law school together at Indiana University School of Law in Indianapolis. Since Kena and Christina were both children of divorce, they were drawn to family law and to finding better ways of assisting families and children through such emotionally traumatic times. Kena and Christina clerked together at family law firms during law school and, upon their graduations in 2001, they began their legal careers at a family law firm in Indianapolis.

In June 2004, after several years of invaluable experience as family law associates, Kena and Christina stepped out on their own and formed Hollingsworth Jocham & Zivitz, P.C. Originally an all-female family law firm once referred to as "the three blonde girls," Hollingsworth & Zivitz, P.C., has undergone many positive transitions over the years.

In 2005, the firm expanded to include an education law department chaired by nationally renowned attorney and speaker, Catherine Michael. In 2006, the firm further expanded to offer estate planning and elder law services with the addition of Certified Estate Planning Specialist, Rebecca Geyer. Then, in 2007, the firm dynamic expanded further with the addition of partner, and first male attorney, Ryan Cassman (current President of the Family Law Section of the Hamilton County Bar Association).

In 2008, after the departure of one of the three original partners, Hollingsworth & Zivitz, P.C., added partner, William Means, his litigation experience and background in mental health offers a unique perspective to the dynamic team of attorneys.

Hollingsworth & Zivitz, P.C., began 2009 on a positive note when the firm was honored to have four of only six attorneys in Carmel to be named, "Super Lawyers Rising Stars" by Law & Politics Magazine and Indianapolis Monthly. In the summer of 2009, due to continued expansion, the firm relocated its current offices in to the Two Penn Mark Building at 11555 N. Meridian Street.

Hollingsworth & Zivitz, P.C., has established itself as a leader in divorce and family law. Six of the firm's nine attorneys exclusively practice divorce and family law. Joining Hollingsworth, Zivitz, Cassman & Means on the firm's family law team are some of central Indiana's brightest and most compassionate young attorneys in Genevieve Bedano, Anne-Marie Briscoe, and Abigayle McKinley Hensley. While divorce and family law continues to be the firm's primary focus, Hollingsworth & Zivitz, P.C., will continue to be responsive to the needs of its family law clients and will continue to expand in ways that better serve them.
